The classical art of "Noh" drama has been performed within Japan for over 600 years. Noh’s highly refined movements and theatrics have influenced various arts and it has been registered as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 2008.
Since 1983, the National Noh Theatre has been producing elaborate, traditional performances of Noh and Kyogen for audiences from around the world. The main theatre in Tokyo seats 591 people, while the rehearsal Noh stage accommodates up to 200 people. A performance schedule can be found at the web site below. Reservations can be made online, over the phone, or in person. The exhibition room of the Noh resources library is accessible for free.
