Shinryoku, literally “new green” or “the fresh verdure of spring,” refers to the beginnings of spring and the growth of new vegetarian after winter. Usually beginning around the middle of April, the shinnryoku season includes “Golden Week,” a series of national holidays and Sundays lasting from April 29 to May 5. With the extra free time, the balmy weather, and the appearance of new plant life, shinryoku is one of the best times to explore the natural beauty of Japan. Even though Tokyo is a developed and densely urban area, there are a number of arks in the downtown area that offer opportunities to experience the freshness of shinryoku. Favorites include the spacious Yoyogi Park, the immaculate Shinjuku Gyoen, or Ueno Park with its museums. Also, you can enjoy the greenery from a view of our All Day Dining Jurin restaurant. Please don’t hesitate to let the staff at the Keio Plaza help you plan for a perfect shinryoku getaway during your stay in Tokyo
